Bike Tour Colorado (BTC) 2011 – Day Two

June 21, 2011

June 20 Monday DAY 2 Estes Park to Granby Rocky Mountain National Park

Rough day all around.  Altitude challenged, still, up at 5 AM, delayed until 8 AM, rain, cold, snow, sleet, wind, fog, flooding, freezing rain, mud, dirt, soaked tot the skin, borderline hypothermia.  Visability near zero.  No vistas from me.

I climbed to almost 9,800′ feet, decided to SAG.  I had them drop me off at Aid 4.  The ride in from Aid 4 (20 miles) was  in freezing rain.  Dan and Kevin SAG’d in from Aid Two, about 1,000′ above. Check out the local news link below.

I will never complain about 95 degrees and 100% humidity again!

Have you ever seen graffiti like this?  These walls of snow were 30′ plus.  RMNP Graffiti
